Harvest Highway is songs about people, their stories… lives lived… it is both mournful and reflective, yet optimistic at the same time, a true reflection of the lives we live. This collection of songs is a continuation of my last record, Moving East – an homage to the coast. Recorded in my home province with fellow Nova Scotian, Joel Plaskett - Harvest Highway had a fantastic crew of guest musicians including JP Cormier, Madison Violet, Ronald Hynes, Dale Murray, and Jordan Murphy – an all East Coast cast to capture the spirit of an East Coast kitchen party.

We recorded analog to tape with vintage mics and gear to get that classic 60s/70s vintage sound while still keeping our feet, or at least our toes planted in the here and now. Some of the songs were done in one or two takes – I love the live off the floor immediacy that Joel captured. I'm getting older but in a good way and maybe even getting a bit wiser… The point being that at my age, I can take a step back and see with a wide-angle lens – the things that matter to me now: love, family, friends, being home and at home in my own skin.
