GUITAR SUMMIT 2023 breaks attendance record
After the great success of the last years, the GUITAR SUMMIT – Europe's biggest guitar show – took place for the fifth time from 22nd to 24th September 2023.
For an extended weekend, Mannheim was the centre of the national and international guitar world and was all abuzz with electric guitars, acoustic guitars, basses, effect pedals, amps, accessories and, of course, music!
The number of visitors broke all previous records: with 11,300 enthusiastic visitors, a good 20 % more guitar fans travelled to Mannheim than last year. More than a third of them were at the GUITAR SUMMIT for the first time. There were significantly more young participants. The family special on Sunday also attracted many parents with their curious offspring to the Rosengarten in Mannheim.
The exhibition with almost 550 brands represented the guitar industry in all its diversity. The impressive selection of exhibits, including around 2800 stringed instruments, optimal testing conditions and the diversely structured location left nothing to be desired. The GUITAR SUMMIT offered everything the subject of the guitar has to offer on four floors – a microcosm for music lovers!
Top artists and speakers from all over the world shared their knowledge in over 100 workshops on seven stages. Those who wanted to experience their idols up close and get individual advice could take part in one of 16 exclusive master classes in small groups. The popular format was almost completely sold out in the weeks before the event.
In addition, the stars of the scene were interviewed in a relaxed atmosphere during the live talk on the "studio sofa". The audience was not only on site: the inspiring conversations were streamed on several online platforms.
Special highlights of the GUITAR SUMMIT are the thrilling live concerts in the Mozartsaal of the Rosengarten. In addition to world stars like Al Di Meola and experienced, highly respected professionals like Doug Aldrich, Greg Koch, Doug Wimbish or Joscho Stephan, the younger generation of top artists was also represented with personalities like Laura Cox, Mateus Asato, Lari Basilio, Martin Miller, Yvette Young, Funky Times, Alexandr Misko or Matteo Mancuso – a unique experience for music enthusiasts and an important sign for the future.
The audience filled even the last corner of the hall; in the strong pre-sale phase, many had already secured a ticket in winter. Like no other event, the GUITAR SUMMIT combines proximity to the instrument with proximity to the stars, brands, valuable learning experiences and serves as a meeting point for the guitar community.
