Recording artist Cam Blake cuts straight to the heart of the matter with his second single ‘RED TAPE’ from his upcoming sophomore album ‘Satisfaction of Sameness’ on Adagio Music/The Orchard. Following up on the well-received first single ‘Gravity’, ‘RED TAPE’ will drop on January 26, 2024.
After an epic sold-out year-end show at the Commodore Ballroom with Peach Pit in Vancouver, BC, Cam Blake continues his progression as an artist and producer with this powerful new recorded offering. Adding electronic elements to his indie/alt rock tool kit, Blake delivers another strong track from his anticipated full-length album.
Cam Blake tells us about the song, “‘RED TAPE’ represents the helplessness of leaving the responsibility for the impending global catastrophe in the hands of the rich and powerful. At the same time, the song addresses the hurdles at an individual level that make meaningful change so difficult; and whether we should simply succumb to the pressures of living a mundane life.”
Blake gives a peek into the story arc of his second album and video series, “‘Satisfaction of Sameness’ takes place within an infinitely repeating day. Following the frustrating and convoluted internal dialogue people face on a daily basis, like constantly looking at their phones all day for some kind of redemption or being bombarded and distracted with media and political dribble, or being subjected to stupid trends and people you can’t help but compare yourself to. Hating your job. Having a relationship that isn’t working out the way you want it to…you fall asleep, everything washes away and you start it all over again.”
