About Rodrigo Simões:
Montreal-based Rodrigo Simões builds bridges between Brazilian traditions and jazz improvisation, crafting music that feels both rooted and exploratory. A globally celebrated artist whose career spans China, Australia, South Korea, Paraguay, the United States, Brazil, and Canada, Simões has collaborated with luminaries including Elza Soares and Paulinho da Viola. His concept album TRE, released on Three Pines Records, earned international acclaim and helped secure his group the 2024 TUJazz Festival “Band of the Year” award. His sound is expansive, rhythmically alive, and deeply expressive.
About Dipo Adeola:
Emerging Toronto guitarist and composer Dipo Adeola brings a different fire to the stage. Grounded in swing and bebop traditions, Adeola stretches classic jazz language into fresh, modern terrain. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Jazz Performance program, he has performed at some of the city’s most beloved jazz venues and is quickly establishing himself as a dynamic voice in the next generation of jazz artists. His playing is harmonically rich, rhythmically sharp, and unmistakably contemporary.Together, these two artists offer audiences a rare opportunity: to hear jazz guitar not as a single tradition, but as a living, evolving spectrum.
